Here is the schedule for talks and presentations at “International Day”, October 9th 2012 at the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
Subject: The state of investigative reporting in Europe
Case story: The media’s role in the Greek financial meltdown. Media and journalists played a part in the events leading to the financial meltdown in Greece – and unfortunately, not always a very flattering part. Many Greek journalists have for years accepted a close co-existence between media and state power, and until recently it wasn’t unusual for a reporter to do private work for an organisation or authority he or she were supposed to cover critically and objectively for a news outlet.
Together with 4 international guests (via Skype, one at a time) we will focus first on Greece, and then on European and international investigative journalism.
